ABOUT US 

The Travelling Tribe was co-founded by sisters and travel lovers, Amy Mills and Marissa Bowden, who wanted to create a space for families who crave immersive and authentic travel experiences and inspire them to get out and explore – even if it’s just in their own backyards.

An experienced and passionate freelance journalist and travel writer, Amy has worked for print and digital publications in Australia and the United Kingdom for the past 19 years and has been able to combine her love of immersive travel and storytelling to create inspiring travel content for a rage of publications, while raising her young sons, Sunny and Ziggy.

An avid traveller, Marissa is a marketer, digital content creator and co-founder of one of Australia’s best-loved boutique designer markets and brands, the multi-award-winning, The Village Markets. She’s also a proud mother to Stevie and Pepper and wife to Rick.

 United by their love of adventure, the sisters wanted a source of family travel inspiration that was not luxe nor budget and catered for those who like to camp and glamp and wanted more authentic, local experiences but also appreciate design hotels, good food and wine and unique stays that create a genuine sense of place.

There was no such family travel blog or podcast that fit the bill so they decided to create their own.
